To avoid replaying an already discovered route, use the game's available saved progress and Hub connections first. If you mean jumping straight to an arbitrary unvisited level, that is a different task: community level-selection tools exist, but they are unofficial and version dependent. Old out-of-bounds skips are also not reliable instructions for every current build.
The useful distinction is whether you want to return to somewhere you have reached, recover a previous run or bypass progression you have never completed. Those goals need different actions.
Choose the option that fits your goal
| Goal | Appropriate place to start |
|---|---|
| Continue a previous session | Inspect the existing saved run |
| Return to a discovered level | Use its available Hub connection |
| Explore post-story branches | Use the unlocked base and Bunker routes |
| Jump to an arbitrary level | Check an unofficial level-selection tool's compatibility |
| Reproduce a speedrun shortcut | Match the exact game version and route rules |

A connecting door saves travel through a known part of the game. It does not prove that every level is available from the beginning, and it does not mean a locked door should be forced through using a movement exploit.
Use discovered Hub connections
The Hub links levels through doors that become useful as you discover the corresponding routes. A guide may describe entering a door from the level side before it is available for a return journey.
If a Hub door is locked, identify which connection it is and whether your current run has reached it. Do not assume that the original release's entire sequence must be replayed simply because one door is unavailable, but do not assume the Hub is a universal fresh-save level selector either.
After the Wrong Door ending, the base and Bunker support additional routes and ending exploration. That post-story access serves a different purpose from bypassing all story progression in a new run.
Keep level-selection tools separate from normal progression
The community mod catalog includes a host-oriented level-selection tool, alongside player-management and larger-lobby tools. Its description specifically mentions situations where oversized groups encounter broken levels.

That is a mod feature, not an official menu guarantee. Check the current tool's loader, supported build and host requirements before expecting it to work. The ability to load a location also does not prove that its objective, items or ending conditions will be in the correct state for your intended run.
A tool that moves you past a blocked level can change what you are testing. If the goal is to finish an ordinary story run, keep that separate from an experimental session where locations are selected out of sequence.
Treat movement skips as version-specific
Speedrun videos often demonstrate shortcuts tied to collision, animation or a particular interaction. Updates can remove exactly those conditions. A route labelled for an older update is not a promise that the same jump, ladder interaction or wall crossing still works now.
The patch history includes repairs to out-of-bounds behavior and soft locks, including a Level 37.2 ladder issue. Those entries are a reason to compare versions before repeating an old technique, rather than evidence that every advertised skip remains usable.
There is also a practical difference between shortening travel inside a level and skipping its objective. A faster corridor route can still require the correct gate, key or puzzle completion. Reaching the far side of a room does not automatically create the progression state that the next area expects.
Preserve the progress you already have
Do not replace your original save with a stranger's completed file merely to revisit one level. That changes the run whose progress you are trying to use and can make the original situation harder to understand.
Keep your existing saves intact while checking the available menu entries and connections. If you choose to experiment with mods, use a separate session and record the version and tool involved. For ordinary revisits, the best first step is the route you have already unlocked, rather than an unverified download or a patched exploit.
