Level 4 Abandoned Office

Quick Answer

Escape the Abandoned Office by entering the correct object counts at four vending machines, then crossing the security-camera area without being detected.

Escape the Abandoned Office by entering the correct object counts at four vending machines, then crossing the security-camera area without being detected. If detection locks the exit, use the crowbar vent shortcut to return to the reset button and try the camera route again.

Level 4 has useful supplies, but it is not completely harmless. Keep away from windows occupied by a Window Entity, even when the surrounding office feels quiet.

Search the opening office without approaching windows

Opening Abandoned Office cubicles and windows

The cubicles and side rooms contain supplies on desks and tables. Gather what you need before continuing to the puzzle, especially if you used much of your inventory in the Electrical Station.

Watch the windows while searching. An entity can wait behind one and attack if you approach too closely. Knocking or a visible pair of eyes is a warning to give that window space, not an invitation to inspect it at point-blank range.

A Hub door is accessible off the opening route before the vending-machine puzzle. If you want that connection available for later travel, find and use it before continuing. It is separate from the forward route into Terror Hotel, so do not mistake a return to the Hub for completion of the office.

Count the objects shown on the machines

Vending-machine counting room in the Abandoned Office

The room with the locked door contains four vending machines. Each displays a type of object. Count how many of that object are present in the puzzle room, then enter the corresponding number at that machine.

Handle one category at a time. For instance, count all the objects matching one display before moving to the next display, rather than trying to maintain several totals while walking around. After entering the four counts, check whether the door opens.

Use the actual displayed category and actual objects in the room. A walkthrough's numerical answer is less dependable than repeating the count, and a machine's position does not explain which object it wants.

If the door remains shut, recount a single category and correct it before changing several entries at once. That makes it possible to identify the mistake rather than replacing a mostly correct set with another uncertain guess.

Locate the camera reset before crossing

The next challenge has four security cameras and a reset button near its beginning. Find that button and understand the return route before attempting the full crossing.

The cameras sweep across the area. Detection locks the exit, so reaching the far room is not sufficient if a camera has already seen you. Use side rooms and alternate passages to stay outside the camera's view, and wait for a camera to turn away before leaving cover.

Check the next section before moving into it. A clear first camera does not mean the later corridors are also clear. Move from one protected position to another rather than sprinting through several unobserved turns.

In multiplayer, coordinate the crossing so a trailing player knows when the camera is turning back. A teammate ahead cannot make an exposed corridor safe simply by reaching the next door.

Use the crowbar vent after detection

Security-room return vent and the office exit corridor

The security room at the far end shows whether the camera challenge was passed. Crowbars are also available there. If the exit is locked after detection, take a crowbar and open the vent route back to the beginning of the challenge.

Return to the reset button, reset the cameras and attempt the crossing again. The crowbar creates a retry shortcut; it does not replace the requirement to clear detection and reach the exit.

You do not need to repeat the vending-machine count puzzle for an ordinary camera failure. Keep those two stages separate when diagnosing the locked door. If you already passed the counting room and are standing at the security exit, focus on camera status and the reset route.

The crowbar is a tool for vents, not a weapon that makes approaching a Window Entity safe. Continue to give occupied windows space while moving through the rooms.

Finish at the hotel transition

After a clean camera route, take the unlocked forward exit into Terror Hotel. That transition completes Level 4.

Before leaving, use any needed sanity supply in a secure place and confirm the team is ready. The next level starts a separate sequence of portrait and moth-jelly puzzles; the office's vending counts and camera reset do not carry over as hotel codes.
